Made In Space is looking for a Procurement Specialist who will be responsible for managing an expenditure base of millions of dollars per year for materials and/or services to support our need for materials and services for contracts, R&D efforts, indirect materials and services, and fixed assets. The successful candidate will negotiate vendor terms and pricing using knowledge of budget and schedule requirements. The position is further responsible for the timely planning and scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services as assigned or as appropriately concluded with a requisitioner.
Reports to: Controller
+ Products and services are to be secured at quality and cost levels consistent with company policy and performance standards.
+ Maintain purchasing policies, processes and procedures.
+ Carry out warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
+ Uses knowledge of material work planning and methods engineering processes and procedures to coordinate product deliveries.
+ Initiate purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as
required; maintains close coordination with engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
+ Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery
+ Coordinate the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services.
+ Coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
Preferred Skills And Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of purchasing related experience, or 9 years of demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
