Nathan O’Konek is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Made In Space, Inc. (MIS)
Made In Space leverages proprietary three-dimensional manufacturing technologies and the unique properties of the space environment to develop solutions to commercial, industrial and defense challenges. At Made In Space, Nathan leads the company’s legal, regulatory, and government affairs efforts and manages strategic stakeholder relationships to support company growth.
Prior to joining Made In Space, Nathan held positions in the aerospace industry supporting civil and Department of Defense space technology development activities as an executive at Masten Space Systems in Mojave, California and as Space Florida’s senior director for commercial space at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport.
Nathan is the recipient of multiple NASA awards for contributions to flight demonstrations of innovative precision landing technologies, including terrain relative navigation and fuel-optimal trajectory planning. Nathan is a member of the commercial advisory board of the Lunar Exploration Analysis Group, the International Institute of Space Law, and is certified as an authorized house counsel in Florida.
A graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a managing editor of the Minnesota Law Review and a Royal A. Stone Memorial Scholar, Nathan was previously a member of the corporate and capital markets practice groups in the London and New York offices of the law firm Latham & Watkins. At Latham, Nathan advised multinational corporations and financial institutions on corporate transactions with a focus on satellite services and telecommunications financings.
