Made in Space, Inc. is developing breakthrough manufacturing technologies for space and terrestrial spin-offs.

Our goal: radically change the way we do space missions today by building everything you need for space, in space.

Among many other projects, Made In Space launched the commercially available Additive Manufacturing Facility to the ISS in 2016.

Job Overview:

+ Creating 2D and 3D illustrations using engineering drawings, photographs, models, or rough sketches
+ Coordinates with users to determine illustration objectives and translates into graphic terms
+ Illustrates machine components, support equipment, diagrams, exploded views and figures using two- and three-dimensional materials, and applying specs and standards and other art techniques
+ Manipulate CATIA data to create accurate line drawings, renderings, and 3D animations assembled into step-by-step procedure guides, parts catalogs, etc.
+ Designs will be for trade show booth design, marketing print materials, MIS website, video production, social media aspects, posters
+ Working with vendors to incorporate branding design elements into various digital and print projects
+ Full-time

Current Needs:

+ Design art for exteriors of space-flight hardware
+ Design official mission patches for Made In Space's microgravity manufacturing missions
+ Develop branding concepts and label/logo designs for Made In Space's flagship product lines

Qualifications:

+ Demonstrated proficiency with CAD
+ Experience with Adobe Creative Suite family of products, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
+ Ability to proactively drive projects to completion, from concept to production
+ Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet aggressive deadlines
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Willingness to travel
+ Excitement about space and a startup environment
+ 2-5+ years experience
+ Must be a “U.S. person” as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)

Preferred Skills And Experience:

+ Experience in the aerospace industry
+ Autodesk Certification
+ Bachelor’s Degree
