Among many other projects, Made In Space launched the commercially available Additive Manufacturing Facility to the ISS in 2016.
+ Working toward B.S., M.S., or PhD in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or similar discipline
+ A passion for space and cutting-edge technology
+ Knowledge of hardware design and assembly
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Must be a “U.S. person” as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
+ Knowledge and demonstrated use of 3D printing technology
+ Machine shop experience
+ Demonstrated software knowledge in Autodesk Inventor/Simulation suite, Solidworks, ProE, ANSYS, Fluent, Thermal Desktop, FEA and CFD
+ Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly
+ Hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and/or testing experience
+ Knowledge of metallic or composite manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, drilling, sheet metal forming, and stamping
To be considered for an internship, a portfolio is required at the time of application.
This should include photos, reports, models/renders, publications, code, videos, etc. as applicable to your field of engineering.
